The Owls

Harpin Jonny is a talented and versatile harmonica player based in Santa Cruz, California

He has been performing professionally since 1990.  

He has been the leader or member of several bands, including the Primadons, and the Larry Hosford Band.  

He has performed with members of the Doobie Brothers, and Snail, as well as played with Robert Earl Keen, Todd Snider, Paul Thorn, Bobby Black and the Devil Makes Three.

He has released two successful CDs over the time span and has been on another 20 plus CDs as a guest performer.  He is a sought after harmonica player for session and studio work.  His CDs have sold well in the U.S. as well as in Europe.

He has had several newspaper articles written about him and his work, and has performed on numerous television and radio stations.  

Jonny currently has four bands that he is leading in the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay area:

    The Owls

    Harpin and Clark

    Harpin Jonny and the Unpaid Bills.

These bands cover a wide genre of music including blues, folk, jazz, rock, country, and bluegrass.  He is a stellar player on both the diatonic and chromatic harmonica.
